PROVOST [limited]

DESCRIPTION

PROVOST is a faithful clone of the discontinued EarthQuaker Devices Dream Crusher. To be more exact, it's a clone of the #994 rev.3 unit built in 2015. A pedal from a fuzz enthusiast friend who wished the pedal to be properly traced and documented so there could be accurate replicas available if something terrible ever happened to his long-time personal favorite fuzz pedal. Buying a spare unit had proven insufficient because -- you guessed it -- it didn't sound as good.

Essentially we're speaking of a soviet NPN germanium Fuzz Face with tweaks and an unusual Fuzz control topology which sets it aside from the rest of its kin. Perfectly balanced crunchy and smooth fuzz with beautiful guitar volume cleanup. Rightfully classic effect.

Unsound Circuitry carefully measured, traced, tested, documented and cloned the circuit using authentic soviet era parts that were also found in the original.

Because of the scarcity of suitable components used in this effect, plus the fact that this pedal is somewhat a byproduct of a personal project, the amount of built units is limited.
